After twemty years, the Old Louisville Inn has checked out, and the 109-year-old building has new owners: Historic 740 Front Street, LLC.

The five new owners, a group that includes past owner Garrett McCarthy, plan to completely renovate the historic building so that it can be preserved for the future, and continue to thrive as a dining destinatino.
Steve Sims, another one of the new owners, says the group is invested in Louisville, loves the old building, and is “interested in keeping it around and continuing it as a restaurant.”

There will be some changes, including more, larger windows on the street side’ a piece of property on the south will be used to add create large bathrooms and add more seating. The group is also working with the City of Louisville to have the building deemed a landmark — it’s been a restaurant or bar since 1909 — which could help fund the renovations.
