Blink’s return on a bill co-starring Weezer, Taking Back Sunday and Chester French could be really, really good or really, really bad. Pros: Because the trio’s only been on the shelf for four years, the rust isn’t that thick — and the impetus for their hatchet-burying, a horrific airplane accident that nearly killed drummer Travis Barker, indicates that these guys reunited more for camaraderie than cash lust. And cons? The boys’ urge to mature, which had begun to seduce them even before their hiatus, is likely stronger than ever — a real problem for an outfit celebrated for having written “Shit, Piss, Fuck,” a song that exceeded George Carlin’s list of seven dirty words you can’t say on TV by three (bonus curses: fart, turd and twat). Plus, Angels & Airwaves, which Tom DeLonge formed after leaving Blink in a huff, is the worst band this side of Creed. Please, no A&A covers. I’m serious.
