Sounds Like Fun!

Looking to get a dose of Scott Joplin in your head? Have you got visions of gambling halls, the origins of jazz and boater hats floating in your veins? Then get a load of the 7th Evergreen Ragtime Bash, Saturday and Sunday, February 19 and 20, at the Evergreen Elks Lodge. If all goes as planned, you’ll get workshops with ragtime musical artists, plenty of hoppin’ music and a chance to strut your stuff with the bands on an open stage. Check out two nine-foot Steinway grand pianos as they pair up to pour out some hot tunes, then stick around for the jam sessions, when folks from the weekend’s six different acts will burn the house down with the music that gave birth to jazz. — Sean Neumann
