Listening to We All Know Better, Aaron Hart’s debut EP, it’s not surprising to discover that the singer-songwriter grew up singing along to the Beach Boys. Throughout the record, Hart displays a pronounced affinity for sunny pop, particularly on piano-driven numbers like “A Little Bit Lonely.” A high point on the EP, the Ben Folds-inspired tune is absolutely catchy as hell and could easily be slipped into an episode of any random CW drama. While most of the tracks are upbeat, Hart also shows he can lay down a decent piano love ballad on “You Look So Good.” One glaring misstep on an otherwise fairly solid album is the exaggerated pitch correction employed on the power ballad “Farewell,” which sounds a bit cheesy and out of place.
