New Belgium is well-known as maybe the world’s foremost purveyor of goofy bike-related events that is also a beer brewer, and the Urban Assault Ride is at least a contender for the crown jewel of that lineup. This weekend, hundreds of people who enjoy both bikes and beers competed against each other and the clock to complete an obstacle course/scavenger hunt that required them to ride to checkpoints, conquer the obstacles (they involved parking cones, big-wheels and possibly pirates) there and ride on to the next one — the team to complete all of them in the least amount of time was declared the winner.
