Since Deadbubbles has established itself as one of the area’s finest garage-rock acts, it’s not surprising that frontman Arlo White was able to round up fourteen local bands to play Deadbubbles material on this release. While tribute albums are usually devoted to more established bands — Deadbubbles formed in 2006 — Reclamation Now! isn’t your typical tribute album. Sure, a few of the artists capture the gritty and fuzz-drenched spirit of Deadbubbles, as Forests of Azure does on “Middleman.” But others steer into a completely different and dreamy world, following in the path of Shiny Horses’ “Payout,” making this a release that will appeal to more than just Deadbubbles fans.
