Lokon and Spellbinder make a formidable team on their latest effort, the fittingly titled Unity Iz Strength. There aren’t nearly enough reggae-and-rap collaborations — local or otherwise — out there right now, and this pair makes an utterly compelling case for more like-minded partnerships. Spellbinder’s perfectly pitched vocals, set against Lokon’s grainy production, effectively complement the lyrics and provide a pleasing contrast. The album boasts a hefty 23 tracks, and among those, “Skid Row,” featuring Rude Boy Reggie, is the most impressive. Unity Iz Strength is solid overall.
