I’m on my way to the Big Apple for a few days to cover the FIVE dinner at the James Beard House, where Denver chefs Samir Mohammad, Hosea Rosenberg, Jenna Johansen, Jessica Scott and Tyler Wiard will be cooking — but the NYC culinary cognoscenti won’t be getting cheeseburgers. And while New Yorkers are infamous for their gruff and abrupt service, the staff at the James Beard House are the exception. But the guy who slung the burger in the above pic — a regular called him “Telly” — cops a “you want what?” ‘tude that would make most New Yorkers incredibly proud.
