As Earth Day approaches and everyone and their ninety-year-old grandmothers seem to be getting into the chip-in-and-be-green act, the time is ripe for WeeCycle, a local nonprofit started by attorneys, friends and fellow moms Jayme Ritchie and Sunny Heydorn to collect gently used and new baby gear for the children of families in need. Plus, it’s nice that their venture fosters all-ages action: Everyone can contribute to their simple cause.

That’s exactly what will happen, too, when WeeCycle hosts the Hopscotch Hustle from 2 to 5 p.m. this Sunday, April 5, at the trendy Curtis Hotel, 1405 Curtis Street, in downtown Denver. A fashion event featuring mom models (in all stages of motherhood) and dressed-to-the-nines tots in chic attire from such local boutiques as Violet and Rock the Cradle, the celebration of maternity also includes a silent auction, a merchandise market, carnival fare, kid-friendly hip-hoppers Littleague and more.

Tickets range from $15 to $35 (children ages four and under will be admitted free). See the event website for details.
