For his latest show, Takeover, Gildar Gallery owner Adam Gildar enlisted the help of Charlie James, a Los Angeles-based art dealer, who curated the show. The two have a similar approach to conceptual art. James included artists from his own stable as well as some from Colorado. All of them create work that takes on the subject of power. They include Daniela Comani, Carol Selter, Jim Thompson, Phil Bender and Adam Milner, whose “Torsos” is made up of a grid of photos of the torsos of men who have posted them on Grindr and SCRUFF. Read Michael Paglia’s review of Takeover, which runs through August 14, on the Show and Tell blog.
