Our post about the opponents of Amendment 64, the Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol Act, attempting to tie George Soros to the pro-pot campaign drew comments about the billionaire philanthropist and his possible impact on the initiative’s chances for success in the November election. Soros was used as reason not to support legalization in the last major election and will likely be used this time as well. The theory is anything Soros supports must be bad — but it won’t work this time around.

The big change this time around is that people are dying or getting critically sick from synthetic marijuana and die hard prohibitionists are to blame for thinking they can change thousands of years of behavior with the threat of prison.

With a stinking economy it is almost a dare to put users in prison where they can learn new skills of how to be a real criminal.
