The Mile High Business Alliance will kick off its third annual Buy Local Week week at 6 p.m. tonight,at an informal reception with complimentary appetizers, desserts and beverages from Avenue Grill, Mulberries Cake Shop (that’s one of its creations, right), Great Divide Brewing, Balistreri Vineyards and Oogavé Natural Sodas, as well as a live auction featuring items from local businesses (including restaurant gift cards). At the gathering, the alliance will also release the 2009 Buy Local Week Shopping Guide, a directory of local events and restaurants & retailers offering special discounts November 30 through December 6.

The Buy Local gathering is free at Swallow Hill Music Association, 71 East Yale Avenue; a concert will follow with local singer-songwriters Cliff Eberhardt and Chris Daniels. (For concert ticket prices, go to www.swallowhill.com.)
