The latest blogosphere blather suggests that recently fired Denver Broncos coach Mike Shanahan could be headed to Kansas City to take over the struggling Chiefs franchise. Not happening, insists 9News sports anchor Drew Soicher. He’s so sure this rumor isn’t worth the breath it takes to pass it that last night, he pledged to destroy his Mike Shanahan bobblehead live on the air if it happens — and as is suggested by the accompanying photo, taken for the June 2006 Message column “Schticky Situation,” Soicher absolutely loves his collection of spring-loaded chatchkes.

Don’t hire Shanny, KC. Because no one wants to see a grown sportscaster cry.
