Our post about the wife of an Aurora theater shooting victim suing Dr. Lynne Fenton, a psychiatrist who treated accused killer James Holmes, prompted posts that mixed compassion for her loss with doubts about the effectiveness of her legal actions.
Here’s a representative example.
Dan Johnson writes:
I certainly feel for her loss but trying to blame someone else for the shooter’s actions is no different than filing a lawsuit against Ford for a drunk driving accident. This woman is no more responsible for this tragedy than the theater. Stricter laws on how a person obtains firearms can help lessen the chance for these types of attacks in the future.
