University of Colorado at Boulder officials weren’t thrilled by a jury’s decision in April that Professor Ward Churchill had been sacked for writing a controversial 9/11 essay, not for academic misconduct, as the school’s board of regents claimed. But they’re considerably more pleased about Judge Larry Naves’ ruling this week that Churchill shouldn’t be reinstated to his position. Above, check out video of a press conference from the CU website featuring CU-Boulder Chancellor Phil DiStefano and attorney Patrick O’Rourke meeting the press. And while neither breaks into a happy dance during the proceedings, it’s clear they’re much more comfortable answering questions on the subject than at any time in recent memory. Pravda may not like the verdict, but they sure do.
