Reader: Big Hotels Would Like to Kill Short-Term Rentals

Our Matthew Van Deventer recently wrote about potential changes to short-term-rental rules in Denver.

Suggestions floated by a Denver city councilwoman include requiring that the owners to live on the properties in question — a change that would likely impact loads of STRs in the Mile High.

Readers reacting to the post included plenty of folks who like the short-term-rental concept and are suspicious of attempts to limit it.

Oh gee wiz, how delightful. Heaven forbid Hilton, Hyatt and the big hotels lose a few bucks to folks that are fairly trying to make some money by providing a fair, decent product to rent out. I wonder who’s behind this.
