Editor’s note: Today marks the three-week point until this year’s election, and to get you in the mood for ballot-casting, The Latest Word will kick off each weekday between now and then with Buttoned Up, a look at political buttons from my family’s extensive collection. The pins are evenly split, more or less, between genuine items and historical reproductions — but all of them represent a little slice of voting history that millions of Americans will continue on November 4.
