Illegal Pete’s finally opened last Friday in the former home of Mama’s Cafe (and an International House of Pancakes before that) at 2001 East Colfax Avenue — and it was definitely worth the wait. The original A-frame has been stripped to its bones and filled with a sleek kitchen and seating; outside, there’s a big adjacent patio — and parking! The place is already getting raves. Says Amy: 

So glad they used the eyesore space and made it new.
