Casa Bonita was just named a Lakewood Historical Society landmark, so it appears to be safe for now.

However, there’s certainly a level of concern about the long-term survival of Lakeside.

I’m going to Lakeside this summer. It will be my first time there and I’m worried it won’t be there much longer. All of Rhoda’s large property at 44th and Sheridan has been going to ruin and I wonder if it will all be sold soon. I came to Denver in 1989 and so much of the beauty is gone. Heartbreaking, but it’s always about money in the end.
