Jon Parsons
When they hand out the good Karma awards, Jon Parsons shouldn’t hold his breath.
The 36-year-old Fort Collins man had stopped his 1999 Pontiac Firebird on the shoulder of I-25 about fourteen miles south of the Wyoming state line on October 25.
But when a Colorado state trooper stopped around 11 a.m. to see what the problem was, Parsons attacked him, according to a police statement. Both Parsons and Trooper Brent Tassitano, a six-year veteran with the state patrol, sustained minor injuries before Parsons was detained. Both men were taken to Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins.

Tassitano was released, while Parsons was taken to Larimer County jail, where he was charged with second-degree assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, driving under the influence of drugs, careless driving and driving with a suspended license.
