Motel Hell at Crash 45 (Tuesday) Since this is the first Tuesday of the month, it’s time again for Blood-Thirsty Theresa’s awesomely-curated series of obscure horror films. Tonight’s is the 1980 Kevin Connor flick Motel Hell, a bloody flick about a creepy farmer who buries people outside the motel he runs. The screening is free; drinks are extra — but worth the cost at this cool bar.

Ultra Sex Laser Playtime at Strange Grounds (Wednesday) Check out up-and-coming comics tonight at the weekly open mic night at Strange Grounds, a coffeehouse and hangout on South Broadway. Ultra Sex Laser Playtime holds sign-up at 6:30 p.m. and then starts set at 7 p.m. for those hoping to try their luck on the mic.
Festival of Lights at the McNichols Building (Wednesday) Celebrate the final evening of Chanukah tonight with a communal candle lighting at the McNichols Building. The Colorado Hebrew Chorale will play live music; there will also be instructional Israeli-folk dancing and free kosher holiday refreshments.
