The Arvada Center galleries will greet the summer with a cheerful set of shows, Faces, Places & Spaces, which open in unison tonight with a reception from 6 to 9 p.m. and remain on view through August 26. Two artist nights, each with a panel discussion and meet-and-greet, are also scheduled on June 28 and August 4; visit the Arvada Center online for details.

Faces is a swift trip around the visage, interpreted in various mediums by a who’s-who of some of our favorite local artists, and it’s — pow! pow! — drop-dead fun from start to finish. Here’s a sampling of the faces you’ll see:
