How many runs down Pallavicini can your knees handle? Participants in the 2010 Ski/Board-a-Thon for the Children will be pushing their limbs to the limit as they lap the lifts at Arapahoe Basin today to raise money for the Children’s Hospital Foundation. A-Basin’s hoping to have the East Wall open to provide extra terrain incentive for the hardcore, and Denver-based singer-songwriter Ryan Laughlin will perform on the “beach” at the base during the lunch break.
“It’s a really exciting way to take something we love and turn it around to support the important work happening at Children’s Hospital,” says organizer Rachael Cook. “Spring skiing is when A-Basin’s at its best, so it’s going to be the perfect way to spend a day in the sun and snow.”
The event, which starts at the base of the Exhibition lift at 8:45 a.m. for those who want to make first turns with the morning-session marathoners, concludes with a raffle for prizes from Icelantic, Christy Sports, A-Basin and Outdoor Divas.
