For almost three decades, the modest Kloewer house at 4990 South Elati Street has featured an outsized holiday light show — a favorite annual sight, as Susan Froyd describes here. But after this year’s display, the family is pulling the plug for good on January 5.

And in the meantime, Max is thanking them for the memories:

Bless the Kloewers for brightening a lot of holidays. I hope they were watching when the joy, awe and wonder were expressed on the kids faces who took in their good works.

The Kloewers will be auctioning off most of their decorations; you can get a bid sheet at the house and leave it in the donation box.
