The Book of Mormon has left town, but as Josiah Hesse shows in his pop history of religious satire, the world’s religions have long served as inspiration — whether the mockery involves Mormons or Scientology.

If a presidential candidate believed in Scientology, then perhaps it would receive more attention.

Reminder: the movie “THE MASTER” is being released soon and is said to have a lot in common with the story of L. Ron Hubbard, daddy of Dianetics.
