Looking for a quick — if pricy — gift for theater lovers? You can name a seat after them in the Ricketson Theatre in the Denver Performing Arts Complex.

The price is $1,000 per seat, but this is a gift that keeps giving — the money goes to the New Play Development Fund at the Denver Center Theatre Company. And all donations (up to a total of $100,000) will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the Harold and Mimi Steinberg Charitable Trust and one anonymous trustee.

Patricia Calhoun is editor-in-chief of Westword, the alt-weekly she co-founded in September 1977.
