You don’t have to be a flake to enjoy the snow – or Caroling Through the Woods, Theatre-Hikes Colorado’s second production-on-the move in Boulder’s Chautauqua Park, 900 Baseline Road. The hour-long, family-friendly, participatory holiday jaunt across Chautauqua’s main lawn features carols, poems and stories. You’ll want to bundle up, but hot chocolate and cider provide further incentive for this entertaining traipse through the really great outdoors.“Given the nature of the show and its length, the unpredictability of the weather almost adds to the experience,” says Kimberly Boulton of Theatre-Hikes.

This is the troupe’s first Christmas production, and something of an experiment. But audiences for the first Theatre-Hikes show in Colorado — this past summer’s The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe — “showed up rain or shine,” Boulton says.

Caroling sets off at 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, today through December 20; for tickets, $5 to $10, visit www.theatre-hikes.org.
Saturdays, Sundays, 3-4 p.m. Starts: Dec. 5. Continues through Dec. 20, 2009
