A pair of recent Comment of the Day items found our readers debating whether or not people moving to Colorado for marijuana were making the state worse or better. Turns out the debate is raging in Colorado places beyond the Mile High City. “For those who continue to hate on…
Last week, Sienna Johnson, sixteen, was charged as an adult in an alleged murder plot at Mountain Vista High School. Another sixteen-year-old girl was also arrested in the case, and in recent days, her attorney, Dagny Van Der Jagt, attempted to distance her from Johnson, writing in a statement that…
Construction on the clusterfuck that is West Sixth Avenue kept me away from the west end of town longer than it should have. Say what you will about Edgewater and Lakewood, but both the food and the cannabis over there could be some of metro Denver’s better-kept secrets. While stuffing…
In a recent Comment of the Day, one of our readers deemed Denver’s snow removal as a bad joke. At the time he wrote, he noted that his street was still crusted with the remains of two previous storms as another one approached. His take definitely revved up our Facebook…

Onetime Colorado resident Karen Langhart devoted the last few years of her life campaigning against NuvaRing, a contraceptive device she blamed for the death of her beloved daughter, Erika Langhart, who grew up in Durango. But while the NuvaRing fight isn’t over, her part in it is. Last week, Karen,…

Its latest effort in a series known as “The Legalization of Marijuana…
We were doing so well with our Colorado-centric 2015 editions of hilarious posts from the Texts From Last Night website. We successfully highlighted the 303 area code, as well as the 720 and the 970. But then December got away from us before we could highlight the 719. So we’re…
Mateo Martinez has been brought home to die. Doctors don’t expect him to recover from effects of a subdural hematoma he suffered as a result of a beating that took place in October — a condition that reportedly went undiagnosed for six weeks. Authorities know who pummeled Martinez: Doug and Stacy…
Dear Stoner: The “natives” here like to throw around the word “transplant” a lot — with some vitriol, I might add. I’ve never heard this term where I come from (California and New York), and was wondering if it had anything to do with the weed revolution going on here…

It’s only been a couple of weeks since Hickenlooper, who separated from his first wife, Helen Thorpe, in July 2012, announced his engagement to Pringle. He’s said to have proposed…
It sometimes seems as if gangs are better armed than the police. And based on the arsenal seized in conjunction with the arrests of three Denverites described as self-admitted gang members, there’s a reason for that. The bustees are Mychael Thomas, 29, Deondrey Brandon, 21, and Jasirii Thomas, twenty. They…
