Lisa Bailey and Keegan Gerhard have looked at several locations around town where they could put a second location of D Bar Desserts, the spot they opened on East 17th Avenue back in 2008.

And now they’ve decided where to put it: not in Denver but in San Diego, where they’ve started construction of D Bar San Diego at 3930 5th Avenue.

And when it opens sometime this spring, they won’t be lonely for a taste of Colorado: The Snooze that the Schlegel brothers opened in San Diego last fall — the sixth in an otherwise Colorado-centric chain — is just a few feet away, at 3940 5th Street.

“We’ll hopefully create a dynamic little duo,” says Adam Schlegel. “Exciting times.”
