Wanna know who’s applying for a liquor license in town?

Tough. You’ll have to wait

The City of Denver’s excise and license hearing web site hasn’t been working in a while. Instead of seeing what the next happening spot is, interested parties can only see the message: “Unknown Error. The Online Hearing Notice Viewer is not available at this time. Please try again at a later time.”

The problem started in May, right around the time that the city’s website was hacked – twice in one week – by unknown net criminals. But city spokesman Eric Brown says that isn’t the problem.

“It has to do with an application error,” he says, quoting some sort of damn gibberish that his tech services guys told him. “It’s not related to the hack attacks.”

Cindy Woehler, of the excise and license department says, “We were just alerted to this problem late yesterday afternoon and Technology Services is hoping to resolve the problem by late this afternoon.”

Just in time for Happy Hour we hope.
