GB Fish and Chips opens in Edgewater

Directly across the street from Sloans Lake, home to alligators bobbing carp, coy, perch, catfish and other maligned bottom feeders, sits the second outpost of GB Fish and Chips, which opens today at 2175 Sheridan Boulevard. And just like the original location at 1311 South Broadway, this GB’s will turn out battered and fried swimmers, right alongside bangers, shepherd’s pie, clam chowder and chippies. But the new location is bigger, complete with a dozen or so counter stools, weathered picnic tables and a spacious patio overlooking the lake. And it’ll serve ninety-nines, only-in-England soft-serve ice cream cones with a stick of flaky Cadbury chocolate tucked inside. We’ll eat to that.
