An old garage at the corner of 23rd and Champa streets has been transformed into Gypsy Cafe and Parlor. The spot opened its doors this week; a grand opening is planned for June 16.

And that’s not all that’s planned for the spot. The owner plans to offer a traditional Mediterranean menu, including a full hummus bar, gyros and falafel. Right now a more limited menu is offered, along with coffee.
Meanwhile, renovations are continuing. The old garage doors will roll up, allowing customers to smoke hooka inside. There are plans to create a full patio area with slurpee and soda machines, where open mikes and projections screens will be featured. The grand opening will be hosted by a DJ, and live music should be a regular feature, too.
