There have been rumors for years that Lechuga’s, one of the last old-time Italian joints in LoHi — once known as “the North Side” — is for sale. But now the property is officially listed — with a hefty $3 million price tag.

The asking price may be outrageous. But there are also howls of outrage at the thought of losing another Italian institution. The “gentrification” of this neighborhood is making me very sad. We are really losing so many iconic Denver businesses. NW Denver without Lechuga’s cannolis and little devils – it really is a crime.
