Gaetano’s is about to reopen, after a major renovation/repair job that the owners bill as “respectful of the past” — which means the bar looks much the same, and the history of the family that started the joint, the legendary Smaldones, still permeates the place. But the Wynkoop Brewing Co. family of restaurants, which bought Gaetano’s a decade ago, is now in a joint venture with the Breckenridge Brewery group, and together they recently gave the Wazee Supper Club a facelift that has some Gaetano’s regulars nervous about what they’ll see when the doors open tomorrow.
After all, the Tasty Treats are off the menu!
Says Kitchmer:
I can’t wait to see how the renovation turned out. I just hope it’s not a hatchet job… like poor Wazee Supper Club in LoDo. That “renovation” turned out to be terrible – and it’s since become a restaurant I’ll never return to.My fingers are crossed for Gaetano’s!
