It was 25 years ago today that Pat McGaughran and twin brothers Andre and Stephen Mouton opened their first Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant in Fort Collins. Since then, the chain has grown to six stores along the Front Range, all serving those killer margaritas whose recipe is still a secret — but the effect they can have on you is not.

In fact, the Rio limits everyone to just three of those margs — which means you’ll still have change coming from a ten-dollar bill even after you’ve drunk your share today. Because in honor of the Rio’s 25th birthday, the classic Rio marg is just $2.50 from 6 p.m. until close.
