Yes, businesses are having a tough time right now, restaurants especially, but you can’t blame all closings on the bad economy. Sometimes it’s simply a matter of bad management. Or just a single bad decision (or lack thereof). That was the case with the downtown Denver Palomino, which the Denver Post inexplicably included in today’s story on the recent lousy economy killing off restaurants.

Fact is, Palomino, a link in a national chain, closed in January — for the most mundane of reasons: The managers forgot to renew their lease.

The space at 1515 Arapahoe Street remains empty.
