Tonight, at 6:30 p.m., Black Pearl, 1529 South Pearl Street, is hosting a wine dinner with winemaker and grape guru Doug Margerum. The Santa Barbara-based, private winery produces three primary wines: a sauvignon blanc called Sybarite, a syrah named Über and a Rhone blend with the name M5. Margerum, whose Rhone-style reds and eccentric whites are blended with grapes purchased from Santa Ynez-area farmers, only produces 5,000 cases of wine each year.
Tonight’s six-course dinner, created by Black Pearl executive chef Kate Horton, is $75 per person, excluding tax and gratuity; to reserve a spot, dial 303-777-0500.
Horton’s menu and Margerum’s wine pairings are after the jump.
