The second annual Toques & ‘Tails food and beverage competition will put the culinary and cocktail talents of eight local restaurants (Session Kitchen, the Corner Office, Ace, Old Major, Central Bistro & Bar, The Squeaky Bean, Lower48 Kitchen and TAG) to the test tonight. The competition runs from 6 to 9 p.m. at Casselman’s. Tickets are $45 or $75 for VIP; you can find more information here.

If spectating isn’t really your thing, you can take the first step to becoming a culinary competition competitor tonight instead. The Seasoned Chef Cooking School is holding a class from 6 to 9:30 p.m.for all potential fishmongers called “Catch of the Day: Fresh Fish.” This session will teach participants how to select and sauté, roast and grill any type of seafood they desire. Tuition is $80; register for the course and learn more on the Seasoned Chef’s website.
And Colorado Corks & Cuisines will fill Four Mile Historic Park with food and wine samples from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. tonight. Tickets are $40 or $30 for members, for more information, call 720-865-0815.
