The CSU Marching Band is about to become a million times cooler. In an effort to raise awareness (and money) for the families who are still displaced from Hurricane Katrina, the Fort Collins Music Association (FoCoMA) has drafted the Dirty Dozen Brass Band to march with the unit at halftime during Colorado State’s game against Nevada this weekend, a few hours before the act heads over to the Aggie for a show with the Subdudes’ John Magnie. In return, a scaled down version of the marching band will be onhand for Dozen’s encore. The goal, according to Greta Cornett, is to raise $15k to rebuild a house in St. Bernard Parish on behalf of the people of Fort Collins.
