Occasional Backbeat contributor and band manger/consultant with BandGuru, Mark Bliesener, has organized a panel discussion at the Tivoli Center titled Evolution of the Rock Concert. Fittingly, the discussion — which is free and open to the public and slated to take place on Wednesday, November 12, from 1-2:30 p.m. — will focus on examining the historical, cultural significance, as well as the economic development and implications of the touring industry. Former Denver Post music critic G. Brown will moderate a panel that includes legendary promoter Barry Fey, Monolith founder and curator, Matt Fecher, Planet Bluegrass and Telluride festival director, Craig Ferguson, AEG Live VP, Brent Fedrizzi and Brian Nevin, drummer from Big Head Todd and the Monsters. — Dave Herrera
