Considering the frequent hosannas tossed in the direction of old-school, hand-drawn fliers, it should come as no surprise that the flier this week that flipped our wigs was one that we stumbled across from Minor Authority touting a gig at the Gothic this past August. The primitive lettering and pencil illustration are a perfect fit for the music created by this throwback gutter-punk act, whose debut release is set to drop on Tuesday, February 24, on Chris Barber’s (Spiv, Mama, Velvet Elvis) Pop Sweatshop Records. The as-yet-untitled album boasts contributions from Barber and other scene veterans, such as Jim Messina from Love.45, and recording engineer Ian Gilchrist.
