The public radio jazz station, KUVO 89.7 FM — part of Rocky Mountain Public Broadcasting Network — has been named best “Jazz & Soul Internet Radio Stations” worldwide by The Daily Telegraph in the UK.
“I stumbled upon this award-winning music station by accident recently – and have been kicking myself for not finding it sooner,” The Daily Telegraph writer Pete Naughton said.
The paper released a list of the best internet radio stations on Monday. Stations ranged from history and arts to sports and comedy to all genres of music.
The very specific Denver-based station, playing only jazz, latin jazz and blues music, has fans around the world in Japan, Spain, France, and the UK who stream their content online. It’s big compliment coming from a publication across the globe with a daily circulation of 523,048.

“Based in Denver, Colorado, its artfully-curated playlists mostly focus on jazz – broadcasting everything from Ella Fitzgerald through to Madeleine Peyroux. A class act,” Naughton wrote.
KUVO has been on air since 1985 and has seventeen culture and talk shows in between music programming.
