Here’s a nice little Christmas present. Remember Shag (the club night, not the bar)? It’s returning for one night (two, if you count shhh-ag — more on that in a minute) at Beauty Bar on Friday, December 23. In the mid ’90s before Lipgloss, there was Quid, one of the area’s first Brit pop-centric club nights helmed by Jason Heller, John Reidy and the dudes from the Hooligan.
Quid, of course, later became Shag, and Heller was joined by Matthew Serban (aka Smyth). When Heller moved on, his spot was filled by Tim Shady. Just like last year’s reunion at Beauty Bar, when Heller, Shady and Serban regroup, they’ll once again treat folks to the best moments of Brit pop, in addition to a set of classic soul from Heller. There’s no cover for the Shag reunion or for shhh-ag, its super (not-so) secret precursor on Wednesday, December 14 at Beauty Bar.
