By now, its no secret: Tennis was born out of months at sea, after which newlyweds Alaina Moore and Patrick Riley came home and made and record. A whirlwind of interest in the band and a deal with Fat Possum Records followed, and now the duo is readying the release of its debut, Cape Dory, in early 2011.
But in a recent interview with San Francisco-based yourstru.ly, we get the story of Tennis’ formation, straight from the mouthes of Moore and Riley, along with a live performance of “Pigeon” from the upcoming record. (As a bonus, the couple shared a illustrated letter with yourstru.ly that Riley wrote to Moore while he was preparing for their trip. Aw, how cute.)
Tennis play Washington D.C.’s 9:30 Club tonight, and are set to come back to Denver for a show at the hi-dive in February. Here’s a full list of dates:
