Now into its third decade as a band, Front Line Assembly (due at Summit Music Hall tonight with Dismantled, Cyanotic, DJ Acucrack and Harwire) has been a group to stick to the confines of its initial industrial label.

Started as a solo project of BIll Leeb in 1986 after his departure from Skinny Puppy, the Canadian-based band has definitely incorporated a heavy amount of dark and atmospheric synths into its large body of work, but electric guitars and traditional rock song structure can be heard, too.

A rotating cast of musicians and programmers have joined Leeb along the way, but he has remained Front Line Assembly’s backbone, writing music and contributing vocals, synths and more to the group’s sixteen studio releases. This show is all-ages, and tickets are $17-$20. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the acts begin at 8.
