As Matt & Kim (playing tonight at the Ogden Theatre with The Thermals and Autobot), Matt Johnson and Kim Schifino didn’t set out to do much more than have fun. Playing its first D.I.Y. show before even arriving at a name, the New York duo has since moved on to conquering bigger venues with a simultaneously roomy and minimalist sound.
With just drums, keyboards and sing-talk vocals, Matt & Kim bring out the spirited, goofy punk dancer in its fans, with explosive live sets that are very similar to tour mates and perfect stage companions the Thermals. This show is sixteen and up, and tickets are $22.50 to $25. Doors open at 7 p.m. and bands start at 8 p.m.
