Beginning on July 4, drivers on E-470 will no longer be able to pay cash for tolls. Instead, the interstate is going all electronic; those not signed up for discounted express payments will be billed via a method that traces them using snapshots of their license plates. And to inform the public about these changes, the E-470 Public Highway Authority is resurrecting a video from last year that explains them in a manner that crosses 1950s-era VD films with The Stepford Wives. Watch with amazement as a PR person delivers five minutes’ worth of canned factoids to a bright-eyed acolyte in the tone of a particularly perky android. The acting is worthy of an Ed Wood feature, sans Bela Lugosi. Enjoy.
