Drive-ins are supposed to be a thing of the past.

But not according to the folks at Blue Starlite Mini Urban Drive-In, a hipster attraction that got its start in Austin, Texas, before branching out to Miami.

And now, Blue Starlite is coming to Minturn, in the Vail Valley – and the results will be what the company touts as “the highest drive-in in the United States.”

The official announcement was shared via an April 20 tweet – and the choice of date wasn’t coincidental:

More details are provided by the Vail Daily.

The drive-in will be based in Little Beach Park, the paper notes, and will use a thirty-foot pop-up screen and contract with local businesses to provide food and other concessions.

Opening night is scheduled for July 6. Costs will range from $8 to $30, and those sans cars will be able to watch and listen in a lawn area.

Also quoted is Blue Starlite owner Josh Frank, who said in a press release, “We are thrilled to be bringing the Blue Starlite experience to Colorado for the first time. Minturn is the perfect location to create a one-of-a-kind drive-in experience.”

Gates will open at 7:15 p.m., with the first showtime getting under way at 8:30 p.m. Gates for the second show open at 10:45 p.m. for 11:15 p.m. screenings.
