Is there anything Barack Obama’s name can’t be used to sell these days? This question arises as a result of a Jack FM promotion I stumbled upon the other day. Those of you with cars manufactured during the past few years know that many radio stations include a signal with their broadcast that causes song names or assorted messages to scroll across your radio’s info bar. While driving my wife’s 2002 Chevrolet Venture van, I switched to Jack and saw the following message: “Barack Obama nominates Jack as Secretary of Music.”

That’s news to Mr. Obama, I suspect — and probably to all those people still upset that Jack FM replaced the late, lamented KCUV, too. — Michael Roberts
