Approximately 400 people said goodbye to Kayleah Wilson at a memorial service in Greeley yesterday — the same day eighteen-year-old Robert Laurencio Montoya, who reportedly had a sexual relationship with the late twelve-year old, was in court on a sexual assault charge. In the meantime, tributes to the girl continue to pop up on the Prayers for Kayleah Wilson’s Safe Return Facebook page and sites like YouTube, where the video above can be found. The clip’s soundtrack is “Fly to the Angels,” by a band with an all-too-appropriate name: Slaughter. Watch the salute above.

Michael Roberts began his career with Westword in 1990 as music editor. In 1999, he took on a new role, full-time media reporter, as author of a column called The Message. He holds a bachelor’s degree from what is now Colorado Mesa University and master’s degrees from the University of California, Los Angeles, and Northwestern University.
